Just received word this afternoon that there WILL be a 31st Jack Williamson Lectureship on the Eastern New Mexico University campus in Portales, NM on April 27th.

I learned last week of Jack Williamson's passing in November 2006, by happenchance of scrolling over several SF writers photos....I had just told my daughter, as I was reading my copy of Jack 75-Anniversary Diamond Book, that he was still writing after nine decades.
A sad and great loss. I recall reading his novel Dragon Island and his story of the horrors of genetic engineering ---alll written in 1951.
His Wonders Child is also a superb autobiography that everyone should take the time to read.
I'll miss you, Jack.  |
